Abhishek is a good friend and a brilliant photographer himself. I started shooting weddings almost a decade ago and to a large extent, I should be thankful to Abhishek for this. He was heading a boutique wedding photography Agency at that time called Studio Red (SR) and I had travelled extensively across India to shoot some amazing weddings with SR. Can’t believe it’s been a decade now that I still love this genre of photography, and I still shoot every wedding with the same zeal and interest.
So, when Abhishek approached me to photograph his sisters wedding, there was little I could ask for. Asha was getting hitched with Stevie.
I call myself a documentary wedding photographer and I use this experience to tell the story of the wedding in a timeless and unobtrusive way. My style of photography – sometimes called reportage or wedding photojournalism – means that almost all the photographs are candid and unobtrusive to a large extent. And I knew this is exactly what Asha and Stevie would want from me.
